Living with persistent pain tends to mean it is harder to do what you want and need to. Pain management focuses on how to regain lost activities and start new ones, in a way that can work in the long term and works with the pain rather than trying to battle against it.

I’m scared of overdoing it and then being knocked out by the pain… I’ve stopped doing so much of the things that made me feel like me. But what else can I do?
 
I don’t want to give in to the pain, so I try to ignore it and keep going anyway. Does it work? No. I know I will pay for it with a huge flare-up later. But what else can I do?
